Dry body brushing is the fast-track to healthier, younger-looking skin. Doing this for only a few minutes a day as part of your morning routine (before showering or bathing) will miraculously transform your skin. It helps boost circulation, sloughs away dead skin cells, reduces cellulitestrengthens the immune system, aids digestion, improves the function of the nervous system and is detoxifying  through stimulating your lymphatic system. It can also be very meditative and calming

When selecting a brush, opt for a firm, natural bristle body brush with the head about the size of the palm of your hand. The best way to clean your brush is in warm, soapy water once a week then leave in the sun to dry.

TIPS FOR DRY BODY BRUSHING

Start from the feet upwards, working brisk, straight strokes (15-20cm long) towards the direction of the heart.

Use light pressure over areas where your skin is thin (neck, inner thighs) & firmer pressure on areas like the soles of your feet.

Avoid dry body brushing over areas where your skin is sensitive.

Drink a glass of hot water with a squeeze of lemon to help flush out toxins.

Finish up with a shower. Try alternating between hot and cold to rev up your circulation & further stimulate blood flow.

After showering, pat dry then apply a good quality organic body lotion or organic body oil.
